Spravato®

Spravato is an FDA approved esketamine nasal spray used for adults with treatment-resistant depression.

Spravato® is another option for overcoming major depressive symptoms when standard treatments have not been enough. Fairhaven Behavioral Health & Wellness provides SPRAVATO® treatment in Bellingham, WA—Whatcom County and surrounding areas for adults struggling with treatment-resistant depression. Our psychiatric team offers intake appointments and physician monitored SPRAVATO® treatment sessions in a supportive outpatient setting.

Esketamine works by targeting glutamate in the brain, a chemical messenger believed to help balance well-being. Treatment sessions are two hours and are overseen by a psychiatrist. At the start of the session, patients will self-administer esketamine via nasal spray in a designated treatment room designed for comfort. Many patients spend this time reading, listening to music, or resting. For the duration of the treatment, blood pressure and pulse oximetry will be monitored for safety and any potential adverse effects.

If you’re still struggling with depression after trying multiple medications, Spravato® may be an additional treatment option worth discussing with a clinician.
